40 min north of Port Germein is Port Augusta.
Not a big town, but definitly an important one in this great area. Here is the main powerplant in this area west of the Flinders Ranges. A train with 3 locomotives, 170 wagons, and around 3 km long, is coming in daily from the cole fields in Leigh Creek for the energy production. In this area there is not one windmill in sight as there is in the area north of Port Wakefield.

Just beside the Wharflands in Port Augusta the birds have their own little paradise.
