2020 - Året som har gått ...

Demokratiet faller, The Corona Bird, Hallowind.

80x100cm.

Vårlig tur i Dyreparken

Koselig søndagstur i Dyreparken

Klatrende Sibirtiger

Skywatch - 11. January 2013

These days my thoughts goes to Australia with their people and wild life that are struck by all the fires.

I'll never forget my journeys down under.

This is from the route up to Wilpena Pound from Port Augusta

Reaching the Flinders Ranges National Park,
we slowed down the speed as you can see why.

One of the guided tours gave us the unforgetable moment of watching a little colony of the Yellow.footed Wallaby.
Forgive me if I didn't remember the full name, but please remind me.

And for beautiful views from all around the globe,
enjoy the visit to :

Skywatch 4. January 2012

This week I like to present two skies in two different lands.

one dramatic in Norway that shows the very local rain showers that day. One minute sun and the next rain, the umbrella was just tucked away.

and blue and very clear skies in France

14. of May 2009 in La Pène at Maison Tranquille

This is another day of unison watering of all the gardens and vinyards and other fields.
Fra Vue-Matin Mai 2009
Guess it's time to show something else than the documentation, of mother nature around Maison Tranquille.
What about some walking Platane trees that we found in "La bastide de Bousignac" in Ariége. Winnie was of course the photograph since I'm the driver and was ordered out of the car. Even if she was tired from our trip to Sequoia Vertigo, she got it.
Fra Vue-Matin Mai 2009
Maybe they are walking from street to street? It must be boring standing in front of the same houses year after year perhaps.

The Norwegian in France

I think maybe I should clear up a few things, just for the record. Yes I’m Norwegian. Actually I’ve been living in Norway my whole life minus a couple of years just now. Just now I’m happily retired in France. I live together with my daugther and family. I‘ve known for years that I’m Francophile. Just maybe I’ve lived here a couple of lifetimes, before if we believe in reincarnation. Anyway it feels like home, I have this strange feeling of peace and content, more in contact with nature, and there is really no hurry like before in the computer business. I live in the middle of the ancient Cathar country. If we think about wine, it’s in the Malepère country.
Uansett føler jeg meg hjemme her.

It’s real easy to forget the time and just sit and meditate or just be.

Panta Rei

This is"Pantha rei"

I do not know how many layers of thin paint I've put on.
I do not know exactly how many hours I was painting.
I don't remember if there were 9 month or twelve it took to finish.

What I do know, is that it does not matter.
When I started I just knew that it was what I had to do.
Over the months I was painting it filled my soul with peace and my senses was more alert for inspiration from the life around me.

What I understood was that this special image had opened up my eyes to the important values in life. It dawned on me that what I tought was my personal religion that actually was quite simple, not only were mine, but shared by billions of people that had seen the same as me for thousands of years.

When it comes to the actual painting, I have experienced different types of paint, brushes, strokes, thinners, methods, strategy. I went to an restauratation specialist in France which is restauring old paintings in south France and she thought me to stretch and prepare the canvas like in medieaval times.  Emmanuelle also tought me how to create folds and depth.

The title Pantha rei felt natural to me, since I did not make a copy. And to copy a glimpse of the universe that is just flowing would be quite bizzare. It was thru my background investigating on Heraklit I found that it was something called "Pantheism"..

When I started to paint Pantha rei it was from an unforgetable inspiration that the ASA Hubbletelescope team had given me. When I saw their "Orion Nebula" on their web, I was sold. By the time my painting was finished, their Orion Nebula photo was very popular..
